GRV: What sets the Outback Ultra Terrain apart from your other Outback models?
AB: The Outback Terrain has a distinct focus on towability. The Terrain was built to be compatible with SUVs and ½ ton trucks. It has an aerodynamic front profile, 15″ tires and a smooth fully enclosed underbelly that makes towing a breeze. The Outback Terrain is also the only line on the market that has 5 rear bed slide floorplans. Rear slide floorplans offer the chance for customers to tow a smaller unit that extends 5′ when set up for camping.
GRV: What changes have you made from last year’s Outback Terrain model? Have you included any new floorplans for 2014?
AB: The Outback Terrain has undergone several changes from the previous year. The interior features Cherry cabinetry with batten trim accents on the ceiling. The exterior is now Oyster colored with black trim. Customers are going to love the 2 new floorplans in particular. The 260 TRS has a full outside kitchen on a bunk model that’s under 30′ and only weighs 5800 lbs. The 332 TRS features two separate bedrooms!
GRV: How does the Outback Terrain differ from other lightweight models in its class?
AB: The rich Cherry cabinetry and Oyster exterior really separate the Outback Terrain from other lightweight brands. Unique floorplans like the 260 TRS, 332 TRS and the 230 TRS also offer a new level of livability unlike any other brand on the market.
GRV: Did you design your storage areas in a distinctive way that allows for more space to store stuff?
AB: This year Outback Terrain increased its exterior baggage door 2″. We’ve also added magnetic door catches.
GRV: Is the outdoor kitchen for the Terrain a popular advantage for customers?
AB: Customers love the Outside Kitchen on the Outback Terrain. The 220 TRB and the 260 TRS have the large kitchen while some of the other models have a fold down Camp Kitchen with 2 burner cooktop and hot and cold water.
GRV: Describe how the Gourmet Kitchen gives more options to the people who choose this model.
AB: The Outback Terrain comes standard with vaulted ceilings. Not only does it provide more head room, but it also increases the size of the kitchen cabinets. The overhead above the sink and stove top are large enough to fit a large box of cereal.
GRV: What materials do you use that make the Outback Terrain an Ultra Lite RV?
AB: There is no wood structure in an Outback Terrain. The sidewalls, end walls and floor are all constructed with aluminum. The roof is constructed with galvanized steel trusses.
GRV: What safety features are there in the Outback Terrain to ensure the protection of occupants? Have you added any new safety features for the 2014 models?
AB: The Outback Terrain is equipped with smoke detectors, Carbon Monoxide detectors, safety chains, and 15″ tires. There is also an emergency escape window in every model.
GRV: What qualities and features make the Outback one of the most popular RVs on the market today especially for families?
AB: The regular Outback (not Terrain) is just loaded with features, really too many to list them all. A few that really stand out are the Tilt Bed Sleep System (Diamond Package), Metal Wrapped Awning (Diamond Package), LED Lights, Full Fiberglass Front Cap, Lounge Dinette and Fantastic Fan.
GRV: Keystone has used the best manufacturing materials and techniques for the construction of walls, the roofs and floors on all of the Outback models. How does this ensure the durability of the 2014 models?
AB: The use of laminated floors and sidewalls, the strongest and lightest construction methods used in the industry along with galvanized steel rafters, make Outback and Outback Terrain one of the most durable brands on the market.
GRV: How have the exterior standards changed for the 2014 Outback models?
AB: The Outback for 2014 is available in 2 exteriors. The standard color is Oyster. Customers can option the Diamond Package, which is a package of upgrades that includes a High Gloss Champagne color. Also new is black trim and components.
GRV: What new features have been implemented in the 2014 models for the bedroom and bathroom?
AB: The main feature added in 2014 for the bedroom is the Tilt Bed Sleep System. Available only on the regular Outback with the Diamond Package option, is a bed that inclines into reading position with the push of a button.
